This weeks episode of Ghost Adventures was filmed at Market Street Cinema in San Francisco. It's a century old theatre that has a strip club built in side of the old building. Quite a few popular adult stars have headlined here. Being into the paranormal I'm already aware of stories of spirits there but now I'm digging even deeper.
There are tales about another adult club that's haunted, on that some of the older folks here might no the story to.
Remember the Mitchell Brothers? Two brothers that used to produce adult films en mass and had a club here named Mitchell Bros. Theatre. They had a fight with each other one night and one brother killed the other.
I will say this.....
When I did security full time I was often hired as protection by some of the headliners at clubs around the bay. I make sure they arrive unscathed and escort them back out of the club and to their vehicles. Good Monet for less than an hour of work. I heard talk from some of the performers about hauntings but never noticed anything myself, which is a good thing after reading all this new information. One prominent story concerns actual nude dancers on stage, but only revealing themselves to other dancers. Trippy!
For the record.......
I didn't wait inside the club, never entered the dressing rooms, and never had contact with any of the dancers outside of what I was paid to do. Unless they were hired for private parties at homes (bachelor parties and such). Those were shitty gigs, usually had some issue with at least one party goer, but it was big money. The gal could clear up to $1,000 cash on top of the initial hire fee. I made $75 for showing up and anywhere from $150 to $300 from her tips, depending on how difficult the job turned out to be. I simply don't have the patience for that kind of work nowadays.
