Best Guns for zombies

if you are in the Zombie Apocalypse there are a few guns that you want to get your hands on.

Shotguns:
in the Zombie Apocalypse shotguns will be used for close encounters like cleansing a building or barn.
you want to get the gun to be short as possible yes your accuracy will decrease but that wont matter within 10 yards with buck shot.
I would take the stock off and put just a pistol grip on the gun and i would also saw the barrel down to a comfortable place.
Most shotgun would work in for this Remington 870s are most common but if you got a hold of a good semi-auto Benelli or Beretta or even a M4 tactical 12 GA pump action.

Assault Rifle:
Assault Rifles are your best bet in the Zombie Apocalypse they are light, fast and very accurate from a long distance. Assault Rifles would be my primary gun because they can do it all in most situations.
M 16, AR 15 or M4 all 5.56/.223 rounds
the Rifle i would use would be a Daniel Defense M4 V7 5.56, Smith & Wesson M&P 15 or any DPMS AR
The attachments for these guns for me would be a front grip, red dot or iron sights and a adjustable stock.
Ak 47 are great guns that are very reliable but it is very hard to find attachments and its effective range is about 400 yards when a M4 V7 is about 600 yards.
AR's can be ambidextrous, easy maintenance, very comfortable to shoot

Pistols:
Any 1911 enough said, A judge would also be a good gun because you can hold 410 rounds in them but would still take a 1911 model any day of the week.

22. Rifles
there is no doubt that a 22. rifle would be very effective for zombies they are light and the ammunition comes in bulk and are worth pennies. the bullet was designed to go through the human skull how much more can be said. if you get a ruger 10/22 with a good heavier barrel that gun will be very effective. you want to be very careful with your bullets and keep them in blocks or clips. they don't make much noise when being shot which wont add any unwanted Zombies.

I'll save my buddy Rampdog some effort.

First off: Why would you saw off a shotgun? What's the purpose? It's not like you're some badass who needs a short barrel to manipulate it in close quarters. Let's be honest, you barely know shotguns. That being said, I love your CoD knowledge of shotguns.

Next assault rifles: AR-15s are a dime a dozen. There's many makes and models, not just what you've listed. I am a personal fan of DD, but in no shape or form would I single out a particular make. You also forgot the mention that the AK-47 is also ambidextrous. On an AR you charge with your left hand and with the AK you charge with your right hand. Depending on your training, this means nothing.

Pistols: Agreed on the 1911 because I'm a huge 1911 fan. But, there's also a TON of other valuable handgun types that would be useful. The Judge is a gimmick pistol. I would rather piss on one than use one, mainly because I will never ever find myself in a situation that I will need to use such a shit handgun.

Finally .22 Rifles: I really have nothing to say. It's obvious you've read your Max Brooks and have no clue what real life or firearms are like.

Pistol grip only on an 870 reduces it's usefulness more than you might think.
Especially against the undead.

The .22lr would be one of the most practical, commonly used zombie killing tools. We could debate its ballistics all day and get nothing accomplished. Where the .22lr stands out in my mind is the economics of this new undead world. The shear volume of .22 rifles and ammunition within a hundred mile radius of me means I would certainly end up having to use one at least once in my life to kill a zombie. The ruger 10/22 is the official rifle of the Boy Scouts of America... there is one behind every blade of grass. Its the FIRST one I drop or give to someone! but I would recomend to become profitient with it.

I would beg to differ. There are some people here that have a good amount of knowledge in regards to firearms. Of course some people are more reclusive in telling what they have or know. I myself like high caliber guns and in a life or death situation I would rather not have a 22 especially if it came to close quarter combat in an urban environment. But that is just me...but I will be there and I will be happy to take your water and rations after you are gone. I am not sold on the idea that one small hole to the head is going to kill a zombie thatis living on little or no higher brain function in the first place. But hey.. Kill zombies with a staple gun if you think you are proficient with one and you feel good about it. There are a lot of staples around.... :twisted:
