Even more tried & true: Mosin Nagant with bayonet. it fought against itself time and time again, always winning one way or another. M4 carbine has only been in service for 15 years, its fought maybe a hundred conflicts during its time. the Mosin has been service for over 100 years, and its been in thousands of conflicts. Despite obsolescence in world dominated by automatic weapons, mosins still see widespread use. and there's no sign of it being retired anytime soon.
I'd like a post-'08 Imperial Tula or Sestroryetsk M91 Mosin Nagant with the modern stepped rear sight for spitzer ball, and a modified (optimized) bayonet, featuring a chrome-lined blade rather than a spike. standard sling. white tipped front sight blade for easy visibility, rear sight ranges highlighted in yellow for easy use.
My '24 Izhevsk Dragoon Mosin Nagant is shockingly accurate. without trying, i pulled off 1" groups at 25 yards. i was just function-testing it that day, making sure my new rifle shoots. with a bit of effort, i easily made 2" groups at 100 yards.
Its not too heavy to move around with, its powerful & accurate, and if i get myself a good spot, I can pick zombies off fro ma great distance away. the excellent & precise ironsights makes high accuracy easy, I do not need a scope at all! I can be picking zombies off from 500 yards one second and then transition over to a zombie 15 yards away. can't do that if you have a scope!
